HCL Launches Ultra Cheap Laptops

The EEE PC that costs Rs. 18,000 in India but HCL has brought out a cheaper laptop at Rs. 14,000 with slightly lesser storage space and almost the same technical configuration of the EEE PC. Sources say that HCL worked with Intel for the chip design.

Now Intel is competing with ASUS in this market and by partnering with HCL and pricing their stuff lower they stand to gain a larger market share. The devices still seem expensive to me. I would buy the EEE PC immediately if it cost about Rs. 8000 since it has a screen that can be folded back and the unit can behave like a ebook reader which would be awesome for comics.
