WordPress Update Coming

I’m quite excited about the next WordPress update. One of the main features is the word counter for posts which will come in very useful to me. Bulk activation and deactivation of plugins along with the ability to delete them from the browser is also very useful.

Now all we need is a way to install plugins directly from the WordPress site instead of fiddling around with files. Only a matter of time.

WordPress Password Resets

If you have Cpanel access to your WordPress blog then you can use PHPMyAdmin to reset the password.

This can be done by directly modifying the database, clearing out the old password and creating a new password. You must know how to do this so that you will not bother an administrator with such a trivial task. Also you don’t have to depend on anyone to get you control of your blog back.

Spyware and Malware

Spyware and Malware are not similar to viruses. It might be argued that they are less dangerous but we know that they are equally annoying. Spyware reports browsing activities or personal information about you extracted from your computer. Malware opens the door for even more malicious programs to take over your computer. Use a good cleaner to keep your system free from them.

Spice Up Your Desktop With WindowBlinds

The last post about reverting to the Windows Classic theme to save memory got me thinking. What other alternatives are there?

If you have enough memory, you can try WindowBlinds which replaces the default XP skinning engine and does a better job of rendering themes. The specially made WindowBlinds theme look great and work well. In fact, I have been using WindowBlinds for months now and I have had no problems with it.

It’s A Text Editor

Some people have used Windows so much that they ask you to use Notepad when you want to edit some text content, even when you are on Linux.

They fail to understand that Notepad is a text editor and when they say that the file must be edited in Notepad they are showing their ignorance. Using the term ‘text editor’ will take you a long way with the tech crowd and you would be considered less pathetic.
